Gardeners! Mike will not be at market this week, but he will be back at the market on May 12th. If you want to pre-order some of his great poultry compost for that market you need to email him at at shadysidefarmmichigan@gmail.com He’ll have it in recycled pet food bags with the equivalent of 2 five-gallon buckets in them. This should cover about 200 sq. ft.

Raw Foods Expert Returns! Dr. Linda Solomon will be joining us again this week to teach the art of preparing raw food wraps. She is the author of “Stop the Clock” a  book that is loaded with info on raw foods including lots of recipes. She is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist in Whole Food, a Dr of Chiropractic for 28 years and has had much success working with patients with various ailments by using whole food and natural therapies.

Darlene DeHudy, local environmental activist, is asking us to join in a group photo at 12:00 Noon in the market, to be posted at 350.0rg as part of efforts to  ”Connect the Dots” of climate change and farmer’s crops.  With the huge losses in our Michigan tart cherry and apple crops we all know that this Spring’s unprecedented temperature fluctuations are proof enough that the global climate has definitely had local impacts here!  Help put the issue in the media where politicians can take notice and help us stop carbon emissions at all levels.  Bring signs such as:  ”CO2 matters”  ”Plant a garden” etc, and let’s tell the world we care about our climate! Free reusable bags will be handed out to ALL participants.  THANK YOU!
